ALT-MXNS, based in Newbridge and Naas Co. Kildare is pleased to announce new accreditations in Microbiology, Veterinary Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry. These new testing services will further enhance the service levels which ALT -MXNS currently provide and will also further improve and reduce turnaround times.
These new accreditations include:
Microbiology:
Detection of Antibiotic Residues using the 6 Plate Test.
Further accreditations in key pathogens including Salmonella, STEC and Cronobacter.
Yeasts and Moulds
Veterinary Chemistry:
Quantification of Beta-Agonists and Trenbolone using LC/MS/MS

We are particularly excited with our new rapid Microbiology accreditations in Yeast and Moulds which will result in a substantial reduction in turnaround for this test (down to 3 days from 5) which will of particular interest to the Food Industry as a whole. We are also delighted to announce our first Veterinary Chemistry accreditations using LCMS technology. The LOD’s which we can now meet in this field should be a tremendous boost to the Beef industry in Ireland in particular as they continue to enter new export markets globally. These are our first new accreditations since teaming up with Merieux Nutrisciences in 2019 and we look forward to further co-operation with them as we continue to offer more and more laboratory services in-house on the island’.

Chicago, IL, September 5th, 2019 – Mérieux NutriSciences, a world leader in the field of Food Safety and Quality, today announces the acquisition of a majority holding in Advanced Laboratory Testing (ALT), a company offering premium microbiology and chemistry testing services to the food industry in Ireland.
Advanced Laboratory Testing (ALT) was established in 2013 in Newbridge, County Kildare and provided for the first time in Ireland, a full range of local laboratory testing services to the food industry. ALT is the leading player of the food testing market, offering technical expertise within the fields of Food Microbiology, Environmental testing, and Food Chemistry, including allergen, residue and nutritional testing. The company operates 2 labs strategically located in Newbridge (Microbiology lab) and Naas (Chemistry lab).
With the acquisition of ALT, Mérieux NutriSciences enters the Irish food safety market and consolidates its presence in Europe. This operation is aligned with Mérieux NutriSciences’ strategy and will enable to better serve its Global Key Accounts present in Ireland, complementary to ALT customer portfolio.

Advanced Laboratory testing (ALT), Irelands largest independently owned laboratory group today announced the purchase of the Microbiology testing business of Microlabs Ltd, Co Monaghan.
ALT, based in Newbridge, and Naas, Co. Kildare is wholly Irish owned and is Ireland’s fastest growing laboratory currently offering accredited Microbiology, Food Chemistry, Allergen, Environmental Chemistry and Veterinary testing services. Given this core focus, ALT is well positioned to continually develop new and improved testing services and focus on excellent customer service.
This purchase further enhances ALT’s geographical footprint on the island of Ireland and allows it to continue to grow and further enhance the level of service that can be now offered in-house to the Microlabs customer base.

ALT to Participate on ‘What are you Eating’ – 7th March
ALT, based in Newbridge and Naas Co. Kildare is delighted to again participate in this year’s series of ‘What are you Eating’ on RTE 1 television. The popular consumer orientated program presented by Philip Boucher Hayes returns again in 2018 and ALT was pleased to look after the Nutritional Chemistry analysis for this year’s series. Look out for Philip reviewing the results in the coming weeks with our Chemistry Technical Manager, Denis Kent.
